While checking out prices for various marketing campaigns I came across a text marketer site. Text marketing at £37 per 1,000 (provided I had the mobile numbers) looked like being about the cheapest means possible of getting a quick message with, say, an offer across to people. In addition it is person to person and I can't think of many people who ignore their mobile phones when there is a text alert.

Text (SMS) marketing is probably not suitable for all of my customers but for those who want to reach people who are usually away from the office computer (eg tradesmen) it has got to be worth considering.

If you are looking for a more traditional type of mailer, we can now offer an interactive version that has generated a 15% response for one of my customers. Considering the normal response is between 1% and 3% depending on whether it's followed up or not, 15% is a huge response. In this instance it enabled the customer to potentially generate £150,000. Not bad for £500 investment.
